I'm No Longer Going To Blog

For those that have asked where I am, if the hounds are okay and if I am okay ... everything is fine. I have not posted anything official as far as my blog plans because I was either too busy or at times still undecided. It's rained this afternoon so I have time to make the announcement that I am no longer going to blog. I've done this before over the last 8 years but this time it's different. My life is different and the days are filled with outdoor activities.

Thanks to all that followed the insanity, that liked following the hounds and seeing the photos of my short trips. Many trips or hikes I take now are without a camera and very enjoyable. The more I did or do outside the less time I found I had to sit down and put a blog post together.

I've pulled the plug on tv and that is now used only for DVD movies or my PS4 games of Grand Turismo or PGA Golf. I do neither one of those a lot but it was something to do during the winter. Less tv means a lot more book reading. Heidi has walked more out here than she did totally back in Indiana. Stella still begs for food and her morning walks.

So thanks again for following, the emails over the years ... it's been fun ... but the blog has ran its course so to speak.

Every day seems to be a great one here in the 'Wild West.

    1. Yes you have if not more but you always came back and I appreciate that. I will take care of myself and the hounds ... they are pretty low maintenance actually. The love that hot sunshine year round. Thank you for being a long time blog reader.

  3. I admire your decision. As you know blogging can be a very emotional roller coaster and sometimes it feels like an albatross hung around one's neck. I like what your doing by re-arranging your priorities. I have often thought of doing the same things. Putting down the camera and going out to enjoy the many finer points of nature without always worrying about what to write about or take photos of. Many times when we go places I'm too busy hustling around taking pictures to really enjoy what I am seeing or feeling. Maybe you find the same thing. Anyway, good for you and I hope it works out. Enjoy yourself my friend.....I'm envious.

    1. Yes, it does feel like that at times. I think we have both blogged at times the 'need' to find just the right photo that is blog worthy or taking a trip outside in bad weather because we 'have to blog'. Living out here naturally re-arranged my priorities and it was very obvious last fall during college football season. I found myself wanting to go hike or bike while the games were on, then no interest in watching them later.

I was told once by another famous blogger, sometimes the best picture you take is the one you don't. Thanks for the good wishes and I have a stronger feeling this time that it will work out because how much my life has changed. Hope to see you and Kelly at my front door some day ... with Pheebs wagging her tail to come inside.

    1. Thank you for sticking around through all the insanity and 'whiplashes' you experienced. Nothing like pulling G's while sitting in front of your computer instead of in a plane. We'll see but blogging already seems like a distant memory.

    1. Thank you Vernon. I will take care of the hounds and me. I'll remember to drop a line sometime but that is a slippery slope actually, if you know what I mean. It's like just one line blogging is too much and a whole post with a million photos is not enough. LOL I've lived in your fine city for a very short time back in 1990 when it was a little bit smaller, great town, great area. Take care.

  6. Let me remind you of the old adage, "never say never." I will keep my fingers crossed that every so often you will post on your blog to let us all know that you and the girls are doing well.

Thank you for all the posts and great photos over the years, especially those of the girls. Take care.

    1. You're welcome. The girls are pretty popular and photogenic most of the time. The move west has been great for both of them as you have mentioned in the past. I will keep in touch with a few photos attached.

  7. All the best to you and the hounds. Sounds like you're really able to relax now with the good weather and new location. I've enjoyed following the blog, but understand that it can be a lot of work at the same time.

    1. Thanks. The change in location has definitely changed the amount of time I spend in front of a computer, thus less time to blog. Thanks for following the hounds all these years.

  9. Hi there! It's been a while since we've been in contact -- we just got the Certificate of Occupancy on our house, but work still ongoing. Punch list time this weekend. But at least we can finally get furniture delivered that we purchased back in November!! So although I have continued to read blogs, it has been somewhat inconsistent with all our running around. I'll miss seeing the pictures of the pups, but am excited for you that you're spending more time outside & doing other things you want to do. I cannot WAIT until we actually move in & I have a yard to putter around in again. It has been a hard winter not being at our lot in AZ for puttering... Take care of yourself and those sweet pups. Sounds like your life is just where you want it to be!

  10. Just found your last post regarding your decision on blogging. Glad to hear it is for the purpose of living... So many changes for you and the hounds. I am still full timing and leaving the Yuma Area heading to Ajo and on Tucson and South Eastern AZ. I have not been blogging due to Technological Issues with my phone hotspot. That and I am plain LAZY. You can still get in touch through the blog though... The email is connected.. Good to see you happy in your redefined LIFE.
